When Concordia is the right answer
It is the most expensive composite we install, so it should be chosen for a reason.
A deck you do not intend to redo
The lifetime performance warranty and the four-sided cap are what you are paying for. If you plan to be in the house in twenty years, the maths works.
Full-sun backyards
The 50-year stain and fade term is the relevant clause on a south-facing lot with no mature trees, which describes a great many newer South Shore yards.
Decks that touch the ground
A cap on all four sides protects the underside as well as the top, which matters on a low deck where the boards sit close to damp soil.
Projects with an environmental brief
A 94% recycled core is a genuine argument, not a marketing one, when a client is weighing composite against new-growth lumber.

Two things. The PermaTech cap wraps all four sides rather than three, and the warranty is the longest Fiberon writes — lifetime performance plus 50 years against staining and fading. The boards are also reversible, finished on both faces.

On a raised deck with good airflow underneath, less than the brochure implies. On a low deck close to damp ground, or on stair treads and picture-frame borders where cut edges are exposed, it is a real advantage.
Every composite does — it is a dense material with a dark surface option. Colour drives this far more than brand: the Astir tones run noticeably cooler than Graphite. If barefoot comfort in July is the priority, PVC is worth comparing.
Yes, and you should. We bring samples to the site visit and leave them with you, because a board looks different under your own trees and against your own siding than it does anywhere else.
